Stability behaviour of concrete arch bridge structures in relation to the load direction out of the arch’s plane

Abstract Arches are one of the predominant structural elements for bridges with big spans. With current technological advancement, they applicable in pure form, without any transverse stabilizing systems. The slender form arch leads to reduction their capacity due stability failure. Their behaviour is directly related presence first and second order effects – imperfections deformed state. typical bridge loads combinations, often invoke outside elements’ plane reference. Such conditions reducing structure relation magnitude effect. Analysis such complex task including interaction between stress state, 3-dimensional geometry, non-linear material behaviour. In following work presented series geometrical configuration condition non-linearity determination critical load leading results display trends reinforced concrete elements.
